BOTHE-HILD is breaking new grounds in matters of protection against fire. With our innovative and patented emergency control it is easy to achieve a quick and simple smoke exhausting of halls. Even in cases of a power failure which is not caused by fire it is possible to enter the hall.

The emergency control simplifies the access to the hall so that the fire brigade can more easily prevent serious damage. Without this solution the fire brigade had to enter a burning hall filled with smoke or else they had to unlock the door from outside. As both methods are either accident-sensitive or unsafe, we developed this product in spring 2006. The fire brigade of the city of Dortmund supported us in the developing process. We can therefore guarantee that the emergency control meets professional needs.

The whole system consists of a “logical unit”, an emergency power supply, a Speedtronic control and a drive. This system functions as follows: in the normal mode electricity runs through the “logical unit” and provides the emergency power supply with power, which is then stored for an emergency. From there the power is directly forwarded to the control which then orders the drive to open or close the door.

n an emergency the “logical unit” is ready for use. It detects the power failure and switches the control on stand-by. After 78 hours of power failure the stand-by mode guarantees one to two further door movements. A fire brigade switch for example can order the control to open the door. The control is then activated by the power stored in the emergency power supply and opens the door up to a previously defined height.

Apart from this possibility the control offers the option of an automatic opening of the door in cases of power failure.
