Innovation and a solid technology are the basis for a high-quality and mature rolling door construction. One of the special fields of the BOTHE-HILD GmbH are rolling doors for industry up to a width of 24 m or a height of 18 m. Already in the planning phase of a project it is the right partner that counts. Just as in the case of this large door in Winningen with a width of 18 metres. The technicians of BOTHE-HILD are in constant dialogue with architect, foreman and client for specifying the construction, structural engineering and installation techniques. Furthermore, the BOTHE-HILD engineer’s office takes on static calculations, draws up the documentation including all the detail drawings and puts all the necessary information at the client’s disposal. The rolling door consists of cold-rolled, 1.2 mm thick aluminium profiles, which are manufactured in our factory in Luckenbach. The aluminium band is rolled over profiling machines and the finished lamellae are then pushed into one another. The profiles have a height of 100 mm, a depth of 22 mm altogether, and they are linked with one another in a waterproof, hingelike way. For reasons of insulation the lamellae are equipped with a 20 mm thick hardfoam core. The lateral lamellae are linked with one another through synthetic slide parts and are thus secured against lateral displacement.
The special wind protection devices ensure that - according to DIN EN 12424 - the door withstands a storm force of class 3, which corresponds to a wind velocity of 120 km/h. The storm rolls are fixed on both sides and run in the specially provided storm chambers of the tracks. In case the door must withstand higher storm forces, additional wind protection devices can be installed from inside (> storm brackets). They guarantee the utmost wind resistance. Naturally, all rolling doors meet the requirements of the latest product standard DIN EN 13241-1 and are especially tested on their wind resistance.
