Every now and then, we are pleased about challenges on the part of our clientele. In this case, the architecture office Velde from Euskirchen, for which we equip Carglass- and Pit-Stop branches with sectional doors for years, accosted us with a special request.
Former locksmithery
The owner of the architecture office buyed a former industry monument and wanted to redesign it to an exclusive residential building. In close collaboration with our field work and our technical department, Mr. Velde looked for a solution for an optically pleasing and technically orientated separation between kitchen and dining room. In mutual dialogue, a sectional door finally was favoured.
Style of the window area, left back side a part of the door
Old building fabric preferably was adopted or partly imported from other building parts (column, stairs).
Also the knowingly attachment of antique-looking door technology keeps the character of the building.
Furthermore, the following special parameters were defined:
Complete realisation with wired glass (door in the construction period)hase)
Controller technology above the suspended ceiling
Door in opened position. The ceiling still has to be brought towards the door.
If required, i.g. during preparing smell-intensive dishes, the door can be closed for keeping away the smell from the dining room. Also imaginable ist the preparation of culinary highlights behind the closed door and the following spectacular presentation behind the opening door. The waiting at the table can also be effected through the flap door. For this purpose, the flap door was realised with an extremely low threshold. For us, this project also was the starting shot for the batch production of the flap door with low threshold technique. As welcome side effect this door represents a realistic reference for BOTHE-HILD doors which the successful and creative architect from the Rhineland consistently applies in his planning of buildings. At this point we like to express our thanks for the shown confidence! We are glad for being consulted already in the planning phase und therefore had the possibility to prove our knowhow in such an uncommon building project. Finally, we would like to congratulate the architect for his spirited and visionary planning and we take a shine to the realisation of the whole building project.
Completed door (view from the dining room into the kitchen)
Passage from the dining room into the kitchen in case of closed door. The door is secured against unintended opening of the door by a door contact switch in case of opened flap door.
View from the kitchen. The glazed door contributes to the illumination of the kitchen and compounds the light and friendly character of the room. Guide rails and drive technology were completely encapsulated on-site.
